Our monthly meetings and art demos are held at the Pitkin Community Center at 30 Greenfield St., Wethersfield at 6:30 pm. Free to sponsors and the public. Demos follow a brief meeting. Bring a friend an enjoy some art!
Wednesday, April 2 – Mixed Media Artist Irene Zytka watch the artistic process as Irene incorporates recycled materials along with paint to create interesting patterns and shapes into her bright and whimsical art. Irene is on the faculty of the West Hartford Art league. If there is interest a workshop will be offered.
Thursday, May 1 – Watercolorist Shauna Shane’s outgoing personality and informative style make this demonstration beneficial for anyone who appreciates the beauty and magic of watercolor. While sharing the process and technical points, Shauna will discuss the myths and mysteries of watercolor including designing and planning the painting, loading the brush and keeping freshness and vibrancy of color through the entire painting. Exploring the what, why and how of the process will help make the process less complicated. Shauna imparts a fresh way of seeing the world, it’s beauty and the joy of painting in watercolor.
