From Christine:
A creative imagination, a love of shiney things, and a need to do my part for the planet, inspired me to create my art. A crazy zigzag ensued to best utilize my found treasures. It began with the transformation of an old, dilapidated window, an idea, and a salvaging frenzy. When I found I had left over treasures, I began making sculptures, birdbaths, and feeders. Cutting the bottoms of bottles to fill the panes of windows, left me with bottles without bottoms that morphed into windchimes. The windchimes needed bling, thus my collection of vintage jewels and beads. I restrung the beads and used them as though they came from a paintbrush, to add depth and design to the windows.
My art has its own niche. The design and style are mine as they are with any artist, but the medium and presentation are singularly unique.
Join me on my journey, as I recreate my photograph of “The Flying Horses” using an antique butler’s tray as my canvas. I will be emphasizing both structure and artistic techniques employing basic art instruction as it applies to multidimensional glass and mixed media. Learn how I shadow with multiple fragmentation of light, and how to blend color without the traditional layers of paint. You will be able to observe the implementation of unique tools and process’ for glass on glass.
