Watercolor Magic for Beginners

The Wethersfield Art League is offering “Watercolor Magic for Beginners” with instructor Diedre. The class will be on 5 consecutive Thursdays on March 12, 19, 26, April 2 & 9 from 2-4:30pm at the Little Red Schoolhouse.
Watercolor is a beautiful and expressive medium and is one of the most versatile, affordable and portable ways of making a painting. In this class students will choose their subject matter and practice a variety of techniques (drawing, painting light and shadow, reflections, color theory, washes/gradients/dry brush and wet into wet/feathering and blending, choosing and layering color, underpainting and resists salt/wax/masking fluid).
Any type of watercolors are fine to use (yes, even kids’ ones!) The teacher will have materials available for you to try or you may bring your own materials. Students should bring a few pencils (mechanical is fine), a good eraser and a watercolor pad or block pad. Class cost is $125.
