Artist of the Month – July 2026

July’s Artist of the Month is Mikki Zadrowski

Mikki Zadrowski  loves and appreciates all of the arts. She has been involved in the arts all of her life. Her first love was theater which she got involved with in High School and continued with well into adulthood. She has also worked in a wide range of painting media, her favorite media being pastel. She also works in watercolor, acrylic, collage as well as creating sculptures in wood, stone and clay. When asked about creating art she says “I just do what I enjoy”.

As a child, Mikki took art classes at the Wadsworth Atheneum in  Hartford, took a correspondence art class through an art school in Chicago, later studied at the Art School of Fashion and  CT School of Fine Art with artist Carl Paternostro (who went by “John Ashton “). She also took jewelry making at Central CT State University. She has worked through the years with any many talented artists including Walt Warchow and Diane Marinaro.

Mikki has been a member of the Wethersfield Art League and Newington Art League (which she founded in 1983) and served as the registrar for both and as the President of the Newington Art league for many years. Over the years she would also line up the artists as demonstrators in a wide variety of media for both leagues.

Sadly, Mikki lost her only granddaughter to cancer and donates her paintings to annual fundraising events to benefit cancer research and a Wethersfield High School. The final image below is for an August 1, 2026 fundraiser. Please consider a donation in honor of Mikkis granddaughter Valerie Perrault.
