Our monthly meetings and art demos are held on the first Thursday of the months of September, October, November, March April and May at the Pitkin Community Center at 30 Greenfield St., Wethersfield at 6:30 pm. Free to sponsors and the public. Demos follow a brief meeting. Bring a friend an enjoy some art!


Wethersfield Art League Free Demonstration  by Christine Diffley

Thursday, September 4th at 6:30 held  at the Pitkin Community Center, 30 Greenfield St in Wethersfield.

Repurposed glass artist Christine Diffley specializes  in found object “stained glass” and garden decor. You will be amazed at her unique creation of “The Flying Horses using an antique butler’s tray as her canvas. She will emphasize both structure and artistic techniques employing basic art instruction as it applies to multidimensional glass and mixed media.  You will observe the implementation of unique tools and processes for layering glass on glass.  All are welcome & you are encouraged to bring a friend. The demo follows a brief business meeting. 

Glass Garden Sculpture or Bird Bath Workshop with Christine Diffley

Sponsored by the Wethersfield Art League, Saturday, September 13th, 10am-1pm at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Wethersfield.

Christine Diffley of New Life Glass Works will teach you how to createusing crystal and found glass objects. Feel free to bring your own treasuresand immortalize Grandma’s crystal as a cherished keepsake. The fee is $40 for art league sponsors and $50 for the public plus a $15 material cost.  The project will require drying time and your art can be picked up9/15 or 9/18 or during Any open studio times Mondays or Thursdays at the Schoolhouse. Wethersfield Art League Free Demonstration  by Artist Sylvina Rollins

Thursday, October 2nd at 6:30 held  at the Pitkin Community Center, 30 Greenfield St in Wethersfield.

Oil artist Sylvina Rollins loves painting landscapes, pet portraits, and farm animals, especially cows! She will demonstrate her technique to paint her favorite cow portrait & will offer a workshop on 10/11. All are welcome & you are encouraged to bring a friend. The demo follows a brief business meeting. 

Workshop to Paint a Unique Cow Portrait with Sylvina Rollins

Join accomplished artist Sylvina Rollins as she guides you step by step to create an eye-catching work of art.  Students should bring an 8×10 or 9×12 canvas and acrylic or oil paints. Landscape Painting Workshop: Take it up to a Whole New Level with Jane Zisk 

Sponsored by the Wethersfield Art League, Saturday, October 25th  10am-1pm at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Wethersfield.

This workshop offers the opportunity to fine-tune your work. Thursday, November 6th at 6:30 held  at the Pitkin Community Center, 30 Greenfield St in Wethersfield.

Oil artist Linda DeStefanis works in layers to create landscapes that are described as “contemporary realism”. Watch her capture light as she demonstrates her approach to paint from multiple photographs.  Linda is an active member of the CT Women Artists as well as an elected artist of Lyme, Clinton, Madison and the American Artists Professional League.  All are welcome & you are encouraged to bring a friend. Needle Felting Wild Mushrooms & Gourds Galore Workshop with Natalie Bryant 

Sponsored by the Wethersfield Art League, Saturday, November 22nd 10am-1pm at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Wethersfield. The crisp fall air and vibrant rust-like colors will thrill your palate to enjoy this exciting workshop of painting with wool. Experience the joys of needle wool felting with painterly style techniques and a full still life to gain inspiration for your 2D wool felted painting. All materials provided and all levels welcome.
